Brembo F50 Big Brake Kits for US Cars: Acura NSX, S2000, WRX STI and BRZ
Share
Most Brembo F50 guides are written around chassis codes, because that is how the parts are catalogued in Japan and Australia. In the US the same cars wear different badges. The NSX is an Acura, the first 86 was a Scion, and a GDB is simply the 2004 to 2007 STI. This guide matches our F50 kits to the cars as they were sold in the US, then covers what US buyers ask us most: wheel clearance, pads, import duties and shipping from Australia.
Which kit fits my car
| Sold in the US as | Chassis code | Our F50 option |
|---|---|---|
| Acura NSX, first generation | NA1, NA2 | NSX F50 kit, 330mm |
| Honda S2000 | AP1, AP2 | S2000 F50 kit, 330mm |
| Subaru WRX from 2002 and WRX STI from 2004 | GDA, GDB and later | F50 caliper pair or full F50 kit |
| Scion FR-S, Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ, first generation | ZN6, ZC6 | F50 caliper pair or full F50 kit |
The second generation Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ (ZN8 and ZD8) are not on the confirmed list. If you have one, or any car not in the table, email your model and year to info@dream-performance.com and we will tell you straight whether we can fit it.
Acura NSX: NA1 and NA2
The NSX kit is built on Brembo F50 calipers that came off the Renault Megane RS. It is still an F50, but the Renault version has more piston area and a smaller body than a standard F50. More piston area means more clamping force for the same line pressure. The smaller body matters because the NSX is tight behind the front wheel, and a compact caliper clears more wheels.
The kit includes two rebuilt calipers, 330mm two piece slotted discs on alloy hats, braided brake lines, and the brackets, bolts and hardware to mount it all. Every caliper is stripped and rebuilt before it ships: pistons, seals, internal passages and paint. The full story of the donor caliper is in why a Renault caliper ends up on a Honda.
Honda S2000: AP1 and AP2
The S2000 kit uses the same Renault F50 package, with its own listing so you can see exactly what fits your car. It covers both the AP1 and the AP2, which between them are every S2000 sold in the US.
The S2000 rewards the driver who brakes late, and that is where the extra clamping force shows. Every kit is painted to order. The teal set in our photos was built for a customer to their own colour, so treat it as an example rather than the only option.

Subaru WRX STI, BRZ and the Scion FR-S
Subaru owners, and owners of the first generation 86 twins, have two routes.
- Caliper pair. Rebuilt Brembo F50 calipers on their own, with braided lines and pads as options. Finished in any colour at no extra cost, around 2 to 3 weeks from order to dispatch. The right choice if you already have discs you are happy with.
- Full kit. Refurbished F50 calipers in gold with two piece rotors, braided lines and the complete mounting kit, so there is nothing extra to source.
Want red? The same caliper pair is photographed in gloss red on the red F50 caliper set. If you are not sure which Subaru chassis code you have, the Subaru chassis code guide and the 86 and BRZ fitment guide will sort it out.
Will it clear my wheels?
Most 17 inch and larger performance wheels clear an F50 caliper, but clearance comes down to spoke profile rather than diameter alone. Two wheels the same size can give different answers. On the NSX and S2000, the smaller Renault caliper body widens the range of wheels that fit.
Before you order, email your wheel model, size and offset to info@dream-performance.com and we will check it. That one email saves a lot of freight in both directions across the Pacific.
Which pads should I run?
The NSX and S2000 kits use the Renault F50, which takes a slightly different pad from a standard F50, so order pads to suit that caliper. You can add them at checkout:
- Ephone RS Performance, rated 0 to 650 degrees, for the street and occasional track days
- Ephone RS Racing, rated 0 to 800 degrees, for sustained track work
For the standard F50 on the Subaru and 86 platforms, EPHONE RS Blue is the street pad, rated 0 to 650 degrees with full bite from cold. EPHONE TS Purple is the track pad, rated 50 to 850 degrees. More on compounds in the Brembo F50 big brake kit guide.
Do I pay import duties in the US?
No. Import duties and taxes are covered by us, so the price at checkout is what the kit costs you. US rules on overseas parcels have changed a lot recently, and plenty of overseas orders now land with duty or brokerage fees attached. Ours do not. If a carrier ever invoices you for duties on one of our orders, we reimburse it.
Full detail is on the international shipping and duties page.
How shipping to the US works
Brake kits are heavy and bulky, so US freight is quoted per order rather than charged at a flat rate. At checkout you will see a shipping quote line instead of a fixed price, and we confirm the freight cost with you after the order comes in. If you would rather know the number first, email your zip code and the kit you want to info@dream-performance.com.
Lead times depend on the kit. The NSX and S2000 kits are built to order and take around 60 days from order to dispatch, and made to order items are treated as pre orders under our terms. The Subaru caliper pairs take around 2 to 3 weeks.
Getting it fitted
Every kit needs professional installation, a proper bleed, and pad bedding before hard use. The brackets are included, so a competent brake or performance shop has everything it needs in the box. Prices are listed in Australian dollars, and checkout converts them to your currency at the live rate.
