Mazda RX7 FD3S: Floor Mats and Indoor Cover, What Actually Fits
Short answer: we make two things for the FD3S, checker floor mats cut to the FD floorpan and a velvet stretch indoor cover cut to the FD body. Both are patterned for this chassis specifically. The FC and the FB are different cars and neither pattern will fit them.
The FD3S is the RX7 that stopped being a used sports car and became something people buy to keep. That changes what an owner actually needs: not performance parts, but the things that stop a twenty five year old interior and twenty five year old paint from getting any worse.

Why the interior matters more on an FD than most cars
The FD cabin is small, low and tightly trimmed, and there is nowhere for wear to hide. The driver footwell in particular takes a beating because the pedal box sits close and your heel pivots in one narrow spot. On a car where an original interior is part of the value, that one worn patch is the thing people notice.
Our FD3S checker mats use high low loop carpet cut and bound by hand, with a reinforced heel pad at exactly that pivot point. The backing is rubber nipple plus velcro strips, which matters more in a light car with quick steering: a mat that slides under braking in an FD is not a cosmetic problem.

Most FDs now spend more time parked than driven, often because the owner is being careful with an engine that does not enjoy short cold runs. A car sitting still still collects dust, still gets brushed past in a garage, and still fades under a skylight.
Our FD3S cover is velvet stretch: a soft napped inner face that will not scratch, a four way elastic weave that follows the FD body instead of tenting over it, and enough breathability that moisture escapes rather than sitting against the paint.
That last point is not a small detail on a rotary car. A waterproof cover on a garaged car traps condensation, and trapped moisture around old seals and original paint does far more damage over a winter than dust ever will. Three rules cover most of it. Only put a cover on a clean car, because a cover protects clean paint rather than substituting for a wash. Wait 30 to 45 minutes after driving so the exhaust and brakes are cool, which matters on a rotary given how much heat the engine bay holds. And lift the cover on and off rather than sliding it, because dust already on the paint behaves like fine sandpaper the moment fabric drags across it.
Wash cold on gentle two or three times a year, no fabric softener, air dry. Softener coats the fibres and destroys the breathability you paid for. Full routine in the cover care guide.
What about the FC3S
We do not currently stock a pattern for the FC. Both mats and a cover can be cut to order, so send us your chassis and we will quote it. Please do not order the FD pattern as a substitute, it will not sit right on the FC body.

FAQ
Do these fit a Series 6, 7 and 8 FD? Yes. All three share the same floorpan and body.
Will the FD cover fit an FC3S? No. Different body. We can pattern one to order.
Is the cover waterproof? No, deliberately. It is a breathable indoor dust cover. Waterproof fabric traps condensation against paint on a garaged car.
Left hand drive? Yes on the mats. Contact us before ordering and we will cut the correct side.
Can I cover the car straight after a drive? Wait until the exhaust and brakes are cool, usually 30 to 45 minutes.
