Indoor Car Cover Buying Guide: Velvet Stretch Explained

An indoor car cover looks like a simple purchase until you start comparing them. This guide answers the questions we get every week about our velvet stretch covers, which now fit more than 25 JDM models.

What is velvet stretch fabric?

It is a soft elastic knit with a velvet face on the inside. Three things matter about it. First, the soft face never scratches paint, unlike cheap polyester tarps that grind dust into your clear coat. Second, the stretch lets the cover hug the body lines instead of tenting over them, which is why our covers photograph like a second skin. Third, the knit breathes, so moisture under the cover escapes instead of sitting on the paint.

Why custom fit beats universal

A universal cover is cut for nobody. It bunches at the mirrors, gaps at the bumpers and slides off low cars. Every cover we sell is patterned for one specific chassis. That is the whole difference between a cover that stays put for months and one you keep fixing.

Indoor only, and that matters

These are dust covers for garaged cars. They are not waterproof and are not meant to be. Waterproof outdoor covers trap condensation against paint on a garaged car, which is worse than no cover. If your car lives inside, breathable is correct.
